I redesigned this nib holder from the ground up to be a more durable, precise version of the common spring-style holders.
The stainless steel shank and nib insert are precision machined in the USA on a high-end Swiss CNC machine. The insert is made to specific dimensions to hold drawing nibs securely, without relying on the common spring-style insert that can loosen or wear over time. The goal was to make something simple, solid, and hopefully built to last a lifetime.
The back of the shank also has a precision A-bar alignment tool machined directly into it, giving the holder a second use at the workbench.
Each kit comes with a 7/8” aluminum grip, hand turned by me. The grip is 3” long instead of the more common 2” tattoo grip, which gives it a little extra length and feels more comfortable for drawing and painting.
Also included is a Red Rat grip cover. It adds roughly 1/4” to the overall diameter and can easily be added or removed depending on how you like your tools to feel.
