Kapala Skull Tattoo Design Painting

I just finished this water color painting of a Kapala skull with Snake and Maple leaves. Was feeling inspired after listening to a Philip Leu interview on Books Closed.

In tattooing, a Kapala skull typically represents a Tibetan ritual implement. The kapala is a cup made from a human skull, symbolizing transformation and the transmutation of consciousness. It's often associated with Buddhist and Hindu rituals, emphasizing the impermanence of life. In tattoo art, a Kapala skull design may carry spiritual or philosophical significance.

This painting was make with black ink and acrylic ink on 300lb Arch’s watercolor paper.
